In this stunning image, Elle Fanning at the Independent Spirit Awards (which is always presented on the eve and in contrast to the “Academy Awards”) honors two great women in history at once.
The first is the Russian Empress Catherine II, which the actress brilliantly recreated in the TV series “The Great”. It is to her that the image on the red carpet also refers — a tight, rigid corset and straps made of pearls (a favorite jewel in Catherine’s jewelry box).
The second is Vivienne Westwood, who designed and prepared this couture outfit for Elle. Not so long ago, the iconic designer celebrated her 80th birthday.
And although the coveted award for the role of the merry ruler Fanning did not receive (and we are looking forward to the second season!) – became the undisputed star of the entire ceremony. Separately, I would like to note the fabric from which the dress is made: fashionable this season and very rare on the carpet colored metallic with a floral shade.
