Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a British actress. She was born in Oxford, England in a interracial family: her mother is a British nurse and her father was a doctor from South Africa. In 2004 she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, then performed in many theatrical productions.
