Marquita Pring, a veteran of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues, who took her first steps as a newcomer in 2020, returned to the pages of the publication in 2023 with an amazing photo shoot.

The pictures for this issue were taken in Puerto Rico, where she posed on the beach in a bright swimsuit, complementing the image with hoop earrings. These wonderful shots were taken by the famous photographer Ben Watts.

Marquita signed a contract with Ford Models in 2009 and attracted attention when she walked on the runway in the Jean-Paul Gaultier show at Paris Fashion Week in 2011. In the same year, she appeared on the pages of Vogue Italia in the June issue dedicated to plus-size models, where she posed with Tara Lynn, Candice Haffine and Robin Lawley.

Pring is also a co-founder of ALDA along with Ashley Graham, Daniel Redman, Inga Eyriksdottir and Julie Henderson. This is a coalition of plus-size models, whose goal is to change people’s perception of beauty, to show that it can be different.

The model grew up in Clinton, New York, and moved to Brooklyn in her early teens. In 2017, she wrote an essay for Redbook Magazine about transitioning to modeling. On the new shoot, Marquita Pring chose a relaxed “surf style”, wearing a shiny yellow bikini from Montce. To emphasize the luxury and minimalism of the image, Marquita complemented the swimsuit with gold jewelry: earrings from Jennifer Meyer and bracelets from Eklexic Jewelry.
