Melanie Brown began her solo career in 1998 with the release of her single with Missy Elliott “I Want you Back” on Virgin Records. Mel Brown’s second solo album, L. A. State of Mind, was released on the independent label Amber Café. The only single from the album “Today” released in June of the same year. Later, Melanie announced her return to a solo career and the recording of her third Studio album, signing with the Australian branch of EMI Music.
