Later the third mixtape, “Black Water”, was released. Her debut Studio album “Aquarius” was noted by music critics as one of the best debuts of the new singers of the year.
She was nominated for “Soul Train Music Awards” for the title of “Best new artist” at the BET Awards. Later the Duo’s song “Snakehips” “All My Friends”, performed by Tinashe won the Ivor Novello Award for “best modern song”. The video for her new single “Superlove”, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, debuted on MTV’s Snapchat and reached one million views in a day and a half.
Tinashe describes her music as “art pop” using genres such as alternative, R & B, pop and hip-hop. “Rolling Stone” magazine called her music “dark, seductive and dangerous”.
